Jacob Kerssemakers
Jacob Kerssemakers (1968) cannot remember a time when he was not drawing and painting.
His great and indissoluble love of both science and the arts has led to him attending Art School whilst working on his PhD in Physics, and has resulted in many dissertations of friends and colleagues illustrated by his hand. He is now a successful plein-air painter with exhibitions and aficionados in The Netherlands and abroad. He never travels without the scroll-easels of his own design, on which he records his panorama’s. He is always on the lookout for outdoor beauty and his searches bring him from Delft to Kenya and Iceland and back. Great effort goes into the catching of the right spot: the Amsterdam canals and several other waterscapes were painted from his kayak.
